McCoy Brothers History,
80+ Years of Construction Excellence

From Four Brothers with a Vision to a Trusted Construction Leader

In March 1946, four brothers, John P., R. William, Lee, and Glenn McCoy came together to establish McCoy Bros., Inc. in Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania. With a commitment to hard work, quality craftsmanship, and dependable service, they built the foundation for a company that would continue to grow for generations. From the very beginning, McCoy Brothers took a comprehensive approach to construction. The company was one of the few contractors in the area to own its own power excavation equipment and dump trucks, allowing the brothers to take greater control over their projects and provide customers with dependable, efficient service.

Growing Through Generations

After five years of steady growth, John and William McCoy purchased their brothers' shares of the company in 1951. Under their leadership, McCoy Brothers continued to expand its capabilities and reputation. In 1978, John and William retired and the company was purchased by Donald A. Group and William C. McCoy, R. William McCoy's son. William C. McCoy continued to guide the company according to the principles established by the original McCoy brothers… quality craftsmanship, strong customer relationships, and real construction value. He remained with the company until his retirement in April 2008.

A Strong Foundation in Residential Construction

Following World War II, residential construction and home additions became an important part of the company's early success. As demand grew, so did McCoy Brothers' reputation for quality workmanship and reliable service. It wasn't long before that experience expanded into commercial construction. The company began completing additions to commercial buildings and eventually took on increasingly complex projects, including schools, banks, manufacturing facilities, and other large-scale structures. What started as a small family construction business quickly became a trusted contractor throughout the region.

80+ Years of Experience and Still Building

More than eight decades after its founding, McCoy Brothers has evolved into an experienced regional construction company serving clients throughout Central Pennsylvania and beyond. Our portfolio now encompasses residential construction and renovations, commercial contracting, industrial construction, design-build projects, additions, renovations, and specialty construction. While the scale and complexity of our work have grown significantly since 1946, our fundamental approach has remained the same. We believe every successful project starts with understanding our customer's goals and ends with delivering quality work that stands the test of time.

The McCoy Brothers Legacy

For more than 80 years, McCoy Brothers has been fortunate to build lasting relationships with generations of customers, businesses, institutions, and communities. From the homes and additions that helped establish our company to today's commercial, industrial, and residential projects, every project is part of our continuing story. Our history is more than a timeline of buildings and milestones. It is a history of people, craftsmanship, trust, and an unwavering commitment to doing the job right. Today, McCoy Brothers remains committed to carrying those principles forward, building on more than 80 years of experience while embracing the opportunities and challenges of the future.
